Yerevan – Geghard – Basalt Organs – Garni – Yerevan
At the beginning of this day we will head to the Western province of Kotayk to uncover two remarkable landmarks. On the way there, we will admire the mountainous gorges and wooded hillsides. First one to be revealed is Geghard Monastery, which is carved out of a solid mountain. The complex was built in the IV century, although the main chapel was constructed in 1215. This is an incredible historic site full of natural beauty surrounding it. Next, we will head to the village of Garni, where we will stop to admire natural ''Basalt Organs'' or, in other words, "The Symphony of Stones". We will continue our exploratory tour visiting the next destination, Garni Temple, located in the same valley. This is the only non-Christian, religious structure in Armenia. The gorgeous view of mountains and cliffs around – it is the best place to take pictures. At the end of the day we will return to Yerevan.
