The oldest building of the monastery is the Church of Saint Grigor. It is situated in the northern part of the complex and, as it is being a big building it forms the center. On the south façade of the Grigor Church, the single-nave chapel is presumed to be built in 1051. The church is consecrated in the name of Surb Nshan.

The third church is called Kathoghike. According to the inscription, it dates back to 1214. This church differs from the other two by richer decoration of the west façade. The gavit (chapel) was built a bit earlier than the Kathoghike church. The Church of Holy Resurrection standing away from the main complex, used to serve as a burial vault.
