The majestic mountain Aragats, part of the Lesser Caucasus range, and the wonderful Geghama mountain chain with Mount Azhdahak are the highlights of this eventful journey.

Day 1 Yerevan
Arrival at Zvartnots international airport. Welcome and transfer to the hotel. Leisure time and settle in.

Day 2 Yerevan – Sevaberd – Aknalich (Akna Lake)
After breakfast we travel to the province of Kotayk, the village Sevaberd (2000 m), which is beautifully situated on the slopes of the Geghama mountain range. We start hiking towards Aknalich (3020 m). It is a lake of volcanic origin. We climb up gentle slopes and enjoy fragrant flowers and the beauty of virgin nature. Finally, we reach a picturesque lake, located between the mountains. After dinner we set up our tents. Overnight stay.

Day 3 Aknalich – Mountain Azhdahak – Vankilich (Vanki Lake)
Our destination is Mountain Azhdahak (3597 m), an extinct volcano. In the crater, there is a small lake, formed from melting snow. We climb the summit and admire great views of the biblical Ararat, the valley of Kotayk, Lake Sevan and the whole Geghama mountain range. After descent, we walk to Vankilich (2620 m), where we will have dinner. After we will set up tents.

Day 4 Vankilish – Geghard – Garni – Basalt Organs – Yerevan
On the way to the village of Geghard we will explore dragon stones (Vishapakar in Armenian). In Armenian mythology, they symbolize water-worship. Close to Vankilich, one can also see petroglyphs from the 5th century. Our walk brings us to the Monastery of Geghard from the 13th century. Further, the trip continues to the pagan temple of Garni from the 1st century. We walk a short distance towards imposing basalt organs, which fall down from the steep rock face over the Azat River. One gets the impression as if they plunge into depth. Then we drive to Yerevan. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 5 Yerevan – Qari Lich (Stone Lake) – South & West Summits of Aragats
After breakfast we drive to Qari Lich (3200 m). It lies at the foot of Mount Aragats. From here our trek starts from the southern and western peaks of Aragats. With its four peaks Aragats forms one of the largest volcanic craters in the world (400 m deep). First we ascend the southern summit (3880 m). After a nice picnic, we will hike to the western summit (4080 m). Pristine nature, fresh mountain air and unique views over the expanse of mountain landscapes will make your experiences unforgettable. We set up our tents for an overnight stay.

Day 6 Northern Summit of Aragats - Yerevan
Our destination is the proud northern summit of Aragats (4090 m). After climbing it, we descent to Qari Lich. Return to Yerevan. Time for rest. Preparation for journey back home. Overnight in a hotel.
Distance: 12 km

Day 7 Return flight 
Check out of the hotel. Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
