ITINERARY

Musical Trip


Day 1 Yerevan (Armenia)
Arrival in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 2 Yerevan: Matenadaran - City Tour - Cultural Evening
Yerevan, the colorful capital of Armenia, welcomes you and invites you for an interesting stroll. First we will explore the Matenadaran Museum which hosts one of the world's most valuable and largest collections of centuries-old manuscripts. Next we explore the subway (Metro Yerevan), the Abovyan Street, one of the oldest streets of Yerevan, the "Singing Fountains". They are worth seeing, especially on summer evenings, when the fountains are colorfully illuminated, and waltzes by Johann Strauss or chansons by Charles Anzavour are played over loudspeakers. Afterwrads, we will have a nice cultural evening.

Day 3 Yerevan -Geghard (Chorus Quintet) - Basalt Organs – Garni - Yerevan
Early in the morning we will drive to the province of Kotayk. On the way there, we admire the mountainous gorges and wooded hillsides. We will explore the Monastery of Geghard from the 13th century, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trip continues onwards to Garni, where we will admire the symphony of stones, the wonderful ensemble of organ pipes made of basalt. Finally, we will hike up to the pagan temple of Garni, a temple that dates back to the 1st century AD. Return to Yerevan. Leisure time.

Day 4 Yerevan: Armenian national dance master class - Megerian Carpets
Today we will have an unforgettable day accompanied by traditional dance and music. On a visit to a famous Folk Dance Ensemble, you get lovely insights into Armenian traditional dance art. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to learn dancing Armenian. Next we will visit the Megerian Carpets Factory where beautiful handmade carpets are presented. In the color-rich atmosphere we will enjoy delicious traditional cuisine. Free time for individual discoveries.

Day 5 Yerevan – Amberd - Aragats –Yerevan
Aragats (4090 m), the highest mountain in Armenia is our destination for today. On the way, we will explore a partially destroyed fortress of Amberd (2300 m above sea level) dating back to the 11th century. The complex of Amberd includes a rich variety of buildings: the tower, the bathhouse, the defensive walls and the Vahramashen Church. There is also a pleasant picnic spot next to the ruins and we will have a nice picnic there. Afterwards we will head to the Qari Lich. “Stone Lake’’ is a magnificent high mountain lake located on the top of Aragats. It is a popular destination for climbers. We will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of the alpine landscapes, with their beautiful variety of colors and natural resources, and we will breathe the fresh mountain air. Depending on your wishes, we can also go hike up to the East Summit (3650 m above sea level). Afterwards, we return to Yerevan. Leisure time.

Day 6 Yerevan – Sevanavank – Haghartsin – Goshavank - Dzoraget
We start off to make discoveries in diversely-rich Northern Armenia. First we will drive to the majestic Lake Sevan, the splendid “Blue Pearl of Armenia’’. There we will also explore the Church of Sevanavank with its five holy cross-stones located at the top of the peninsula. Then we’ll experience the picturesque city of Dilijan, known as Armenian Switzerland. A visit will be paid to the monasteries of Haghartsin (11th C.) and Goshavank (12-13th C.) located very close to Dilijan. These monasteries are a testament to the old culture and history of Armenia. Departure to Dzoraget.

Day 7 Dzoraget - Akhtala - Haghpat - Sanahin - Odzun - Dzoraget
The picturesque province of Lori invites us to enjoy unforgetable experiences. We will explore the village of Akhtala, famous for its frescoes. Next we visit the monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin amidst a beautiful nature. Both belong to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.The trip continues to the precursor of Armenian cross-stones - the domed basilica of Odzun. Overnight in Dzoraget.

Day 8 Dzoraget - Gyumri: City Tour
In the morning we drive to the Shirak plateau to visit the second biggest city of Armenia – Gyumri. Gyumri is a city of art and culture, tradition, hospitality, humor and indomitable zest for life. Here you can explore the old town with its beautiful old town houses, colorful facades and typical wooden balconies. On this beautiful city tour we will have the opportunity to observe not only locals’ everyday life, but the craftsmen’s as well.

Day 9 Gyumri – Harichavank - Yererouk -Yerevan
Descent into the village of Harich. We will explore the Harichavank Monastery dating back to the 7th century. Many famous poets of the 20th century studied here at the monastery school. Also, nowadays, many students study at the Seminary. The Monastery is a very significant spiritual centre. Then, we will visit the ruins of Yererouk Basilica. Return to Yerevan. Leisure time. Prepariation for the journey home.

Day 10 Yerevan – Zvartnots - Etchmiadzin – Aknashen – Yerevan
Exploration trip to Etchmiadzin, the most important religious center of Armenia. On the way we will visit the ruins of the circular Cathedral of Zvartnots and St. Hripsime Church. Both date back to the 7th century. Later on, we will pay a visit to the Cathedral of Etchmiadzin. The trip continues to the village of Aknashen. Exciting encounters and warm hospitality will invite you to the Armenian table, interesting conversations, laughter and joy. You will get the unique opportunity to take part in the preparation of Lavash, traditional Armenian flat bread and taste Armenian specialties in a warm and cozy atmosphere. Full of splendid impressions we drive back to Yerevan. Leisure time.

Day 11 Yerevan: Komitas Museum - Tsitsernakaberd - Cultural Evening
At the beginning of the day we will visit the Museum of Komitas (Soghomon Soghomonian). He is considered the founder of modern classical Armenian music. Next we will explore Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide Museum and Memorial. 

Day 12 Return flight 
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
