Ijevan

Ijevan gained the status of a town only during the Soviet epoch. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the town didn’t manage to maintain its dual function as an industrial center and resort.

Not much of its industrial past can be seen now. White wine is made just as before. Locals engage themselves with the timber- and carpet-trade. Ijevan is worth visiting for the revolution-museum and the open air museum with its magnificent sculptures.
