Martiros Saryan Museum

The father of modern Armenian painting (1880-1972) was still living in this house, when a decision was made to attach a museum where his works could be exhibited, to the main building (1967).

This small and neat museum exhibits his magnificent drawings, paintings and his studio.

Martiros Saryan, born in Russia in 1880, studied at the Moscow School of Arts. After extensive travels he settled in Armenia to devote his work to his country. With his expressive and color-extensive paintings he is considered as one of the most outstanding contemporary classics.
