Saghmosavank (Psalms Monastery) is one of those numerous monasteries, restless constructions of which, we owe to the royal family of Vachutyan. The monastery is famous for many important manuscripts written and preserved here.

The monastery consists of two churches, jamatun (a type of gavit, a porch which is not directly connected to the main building) and library.

The ensemble is situated atop the gorge of the Kasagh River, on its right bank and is only 7-8 km away from the town of Ashtarak. The delightful silhouette can be seen from afar. From the monastery of Saghmosavank, a breathtaking view of the double cone of Mount Ararat and fertile valley of Arax can be enjoyed.
