Zangakatun

The village is located in the province of Ararat, on the right bank of the Aratso River, on the southern slope of the Geghama Mountains. The village is known as the birthplace of the famous Armenian poet Paruyr Sevak.

In the backyard of his house, the house-museum of the poet was built in 1971. The stone grave of the poet is located in a beautiful flower garden.

Impressive authentic manuscripts, books, awards and photos, as well as the personal property make the poet’s life and works more vivid.

Every year, on June 17, "the Day of Poetry" is celebrated in the museum.
